Artist's Comments

Note to self: improve inking skill.

Done with ink and pastel. The pain about these two is that you cannot subtract. Once you put it in place, that's that.

Note to self: learn how to draw twisting leaves.

Also the boy is holding on to something inside his palm as he, at the same time, lets it release through the gaps between his fingers. What it is, I'll never know. Maybe it's a good feeling.

I have the same problem with the non-loading of pics...

I think "grasp it" sounds a little more fitting for this.
I love the style. It's sort of an enlightened sketch, if I have any idea what I'm talking about.

Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.

I love his eyes. And his smile. It's hard to hold onto a good feeling for too long.
:iconbourne:
How did I not comment on this? Some mystical forces must have hidden it from me. Anyways, I like the look of it. His smile is pretty cool, the lighting is nice and the hair is really nice.
:iconjept:
oh my! you're such an artist, i do say. the hair looks pretty real.

hehe, i like the 'note to self's

nice use of a mini-cyclone of movement near his head to occupy the space and keep the viewer interested in the subject, but not fixated.

the ink really creates some contrasts in his face.

It's easy to explain simple things so they seem to be complex...to explain complex things so they seem easy - that's the real challenge!
